It has been a long time...

...since I last was in Vietnam !
3 weeks in total, but now I am back.

The trip down to Ho Chi Minh Town was amazing!
I met Julia and Valentine in Hoi An again.
A city where every girl needs to go,
Not just because there are two amazing beaches to have breakfast at,
but because anything you could ever image you can get yourself tailored there.
And not only clothes but shoes as well !
Awesome !
At night you can see the city from a different angle with a lot of lampions
Everywhere, an amazing atmosphere.

After Hoi An I spent two nights in Mui Ne which is the place to be for any
kind of surfing in Vietnam. Unfortunatley it's not season now
so there where no waves and there was no wind. What a pity.
The beach was still nice though.

My next stop was Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City !
It's basically a city but nothing like Hanoi.
I went for a one day trip to the Mekong Delta which was
great. I met Zach again there, an Egyptian, Canadian guy that I met incidentally a couple of times before already and my new Indonesian family.
Holding a snake, being surrounded by bees and the boat trip back to town on the Mekong
where my personal highlights. But the evening was not so nice.
After dinner we discovered the dark side of Saigon.
We, Valentine, her friend Sara and me, had dinner and decided
to walk back to the main tourist area by feet. As someone pushed me
from the back. At least that's what it felt like. In fact two guys on a motorbike
tried to steal my bag. I was wearing a small one put diagonal around my body and
gladly had one hand on the bag when they tried to steal it.
It all happened very fast and all I know is that I stood there watching a motorbike
drive away with the strap of my bag, holding the actual bag in my hands though.
Great fun. I was lucky!

So then I left the lovely Vietnam to go to Cambodia for a two weeks Volunteer project in a Hospital.
I was staying in Samrong which is on the countryside of Cambodia very close to the border of Thailand and about two hours with the car from Siem Reap.
The work in the Provincial Hospital there was amazing and I got a view of the medical side of Cambodia or in general which I never could have experienced in Europe.
I attended my first surgery and saw several natural births as well as a C-Section which ended up with the removal of the abnormal uterus and little Lavinia LIVE there where it happend. A few meteres away.

Just when I got into the work there in the hospital and got to know Cambodia a little bit more after I visited the amazing Angkor Temple where Tomb Raider was shot I got sick and two weeks of fever, headaches and hospitals started.
It is not a lot of fun to get sick in Asia. Let me tell you that.

But after this madness I feel quite okay again.
Maybe it is because I am back in Hanoi. I LOVE THIS CITY !
and vietnamese people are just so friendly and funny at the same time.

As my yourney is coming to and end I will still spend a couple of days in Hanoi, then head to Singapore and as the last, the final stop, I will experience western life again in London meeting two South African Sisters Silvia Rizzo and Severine Ruedi. Hallelulja.

So be prepaired: I am coming home soon !

It's a Beautiful Day !
